The high season in Hawaii runs from mid-December to late March (even mid-April) so both accommodation and flights will be a bit higher than during the rest of the year.

If you look for bargain-deal flights to Hawaii , start searching as early as possible. Typically, you’ll find the lowest cost airfare two to eight weeks prior to departure so make sure you do your homework. And if you happen to be a frequent flyer on airlines which fly into Hawaii, check their special deals.

Now, it’s time to look for hotels in Hawaii . Irregardless of which Hawaiian Island you stay on, the closer you are to the beach, the more you’ll pay for accommodations. Start your search early and look at the deals offered. You may find special rates for Valentine’s Day that include a spa package or a romantic dinner.

Romantic Things To Do In Hawaii

Valentine’s Day is all about being romantic and showing your love. So, make sure you do some homework ahead of time and know some of the most romantic things you two can enjoy on the islands. Going to a restaurant is nice, but it gets old. Fast.

If you don’t mind waking up at the crack of down, you can watch a sunrise together. Equally beautiful are the sunsets. In Maui, consider going to Haleakala National Park.

Another beautiful – and inexpensive – thing to do is stargazing. Remember when you were little and visited your grandparents in the country and lied on the back in the grass to watch the stars? It’s very romantic to do it with your loved one. Find a secluded spot away from civilization.

Consider horseback riding also. For an added romantic feel, plan to take your loved one horseback riding on the beach right before sunset.

Speak some romantic Hawaiian words to your loved one. Some of the most popular can be found here.

There are many many beautiful things to see and do in Hawaii, whether for Valentine's Day or not. Share your favorite by posting a comment.

And if you can't make it to Hawaii, you can always have it delivered to you. Kapo Trading Company offers over 3000 fun, unique and authentic Hawaiian gift items. family is the tropical hibiscus.

The hibiscus flower
can be found in many colors and sizes. According to research information there are more than a
thousand color options, but no
blue or black in the true sense. The sizes will vary from 2 inch blooms
to 12 inch blooms. Typically the flowers are found on bushes that will
grow by a couple of feet in a year. There are some hibiscus bushes that
will reach up to 15 feet.

If you are interested in
growing these beautiful flowers that you would commonly see in a
tropical area, such as Hawaii, then you need to keep several
considerations in mind. For example, if you live in an area where you
deal with a large amount of frost, then you would need to plant
your flowers in pots so that you can transport them inside at night.
However, do not let your climate keep you from planting the flowers in
pots. Many gardeners who live in warmer climates prefer pots to the
actual ground, and they are very successful at growing in the same
condition. A great idea when contemplating growing a hibiscus is to seek
the advice of other gardeners in
your area who specialize in hibiscus flowers. They can tell you what
tips work for them in the climate that you live in.

Don't have a green thumb but want the beauty of a hibiscus you can show off? Add a floral Hawaiian hair clip to your wardrobe. It makes the perfect accessory for any outfit! And at Kapo Trading Company, they are very realistic -- so many of our customers have told us the wonderful comments they get when they wear these beautiful and authentic Hawaiian hair clips.
The music of Hawaii includes an array of traditional and popular styles, ranging from native Hawaiian folk music to modern rock and hip hop. Styles like slack-key guitar are well-known worldwide, while Hawaiian-tinged music is a frequent part of Hollywood soundtracks. Hawaii also made a major contribution to country music with the introduction of the steel guitar.

Traditional Hawaiian folk music is a major part of the state's musical heritage. The Hawaiian people
have inhabited the islands for centuries and have retained much of
their traditional musical knowledge. Their music is largely religious in
nature, and includes chanting and dance music. Hawaiian music has had an enormous impact on the music of other Polynesian islands;
indeed, music author Peter Manuel called the influence of Hawaiian
music a "unifying factor in the development of modern Pacific musics"
different moment, one filled with Hawaiian sunshine and the warmth of
never-ending summer. Right now, you could be living in the moment on
famed Waikiki Beach on the Island of Oahu, splashing in the waves,
cruising in a catamaran, or unwinding with sunset cocktails overlooking a
golden sea. Or perhaps, the Island of Maui is more your style, with
flourishing rainforests, flowing waterfalls, plunging pools and dramatic
seascapes on the picturesque road to Hana. And on the Islands of Kauai,
Hawaii Island, Molokai and Lanai, there are even more moments waiting
to be shared.

From its heavenly beaches to its scenic natural wonders, there are
plenty of reasons why Maui has been voted “Best Island” by readers of
Conde Nast Traveler for seventeen years.

Discover your own reasons to love Maui as you stroll the seaside streets of Laihaina and the lovely beaches of Kaanapali. It’s no wonder why thousands of humpback whales migrate to Maui’s warm waters year after year. One visit to Maui and you just might join them.

For everything Hawaii, visit Kapo Trading Company -- we deliver Hawaii to you!

Gift Baskets - Give A Gift of Fun

It's All About Having A Fun Time

It’s no secret– gift baskets are a lot of fun! This might sound like a fairly random statement, but let’s
actually look at why a gift basket is better than your average gift.

Gift baskets have long been the most coveted gifts for any occasion. Why? Well, it’s because with a gift
basket, you’re not just receiving one gift. You are receiving an entire package of gifts. This means that
there is a lot of room for extra customization, personalization, and fun!

Just think of the last time you received a gift basket. Chances are that it was for a holiday occasion. These
are so popular for holidays because they contain such a wide variety of gifts. For example, one of the
most common types of gift baskets is the food/edible gift basket. These are baskets packed with candy,
food and other goodies. These are a lot of fun because you are giving a wide variety to the recipient.
Instead of simply focusing on one aspect of the gift, you are instead giving them a lot of options to choose
from.

But that’s not the fun part, not quite. The fun part of gift baskets comes from the fact that you can pack
them up however you’d like. You can completely customize your gift basket, meaning that no matter
what you pick, it will be the best gift basket for your needs. If you want something fun for a child’s
birthday, for example, you can throw on a bunch of different colors and decorations. You can also theme
the gift basket based on what your child is interested in.

As you can see, the options are limitless when it comes to fun gift baskets. Let us supply you with a gift
basket that is not only a great gift, but a lot of fun as well!

Hawaiian gift baskets are one of the many fun, unique and authentic items Kapo Trading Company can deliver to you!

Fun Family Photo Ideas

Aloha! It seems that holiday cards with family photographs are
becoming more popular every year. Why shouldn't they be so popular? It
is after all a great way to make your holiday greetings a personal
statement from you and yours. It is a chance for the family to display
their individual personalities and it is a great way for family and
friends who don't live nearby to see how much the kids have grown.

Start Early

The number one thing to remember is to get the process started
early. You can't wait until December to try to get things rolling.
October or even September is certainly not too early to get things
underway. Of course I recommend you get a professional photograph taken.
Nothing says "I really don't care" like a cheap family picture on a
Christmas card.

Create a Theme

Create a theme to provide continuity with the type of card you will
be sending. Maybe you want a religious theme. Maybe you want a snow ski
theme or maybe even a Christmas in Hawaii theme (of course we think anything with a Hawaiian theme is great!). The possibilities are
endless and you can have a lot of fun with it. Here are some theme ideas
to think about.

Family photo with everyone wearing Hawaiian clothing in a beach setting and/or on surfboards. The backgrounds and props are endless -- have fun! The smiles will be endless making your photo one to be remembered. If you need anything Hawaiian, we recommend Kapo Trading Company -- they have over 3000 fun, unique and authentic Hawaiian items.

Maybe Just the kids

Let's face it everybody is busy. Maybe everyone in the family can't
get together at the same time and the same place. One solution is to
just have the kid's photos on the card. For a lot of people it's all
about the kids anyway.

Maybe Just the Pets

O.K. so the kids are busy too...or maybe they are just teenagers.
Since our pets become real family members over time, maybe you just do a
pet photo holiday card. They have to do what you say anyway, and they
won't complain about anything. And pets love Hawaii too! Maybe put a lei around their neck and/or let them pose on a surfboard.

Get Costumes and Props

You will want your backdrop and/or props to match your Hawaiian theme. Items such as beach balls, palm trees, sand toys, beach towels -- all make for a fun photo shoot. A lot of time the
most difficult part of the shoot is getting everyone to stop laughing at
the same time. Of course the more back drops and professional look you
give it the happier you will be with the result.

Create Continuity with the Card

When you start looking for a card to put your photo on, you will find
there are a lot of options. Once it was the case that most people who
sent family photo holiday cards chose the postcard type. However due
to lowering prices of the folding type and the minimum order quantities
dropping, more people are opting to go with folding cards. You will have
to select according to your own preference and budget.

Of course
you will want to pick a card that blends well with your theme. Make sure
the colors blend and especially the message. Continuity with the theme,
colors, and message is the glue that pulls it all together and says,
"We really put some thought into this, because we care about you."

Have Fun

Family photo holiday cards are all about having fun together for
the entire family. What ever you decide remember to have fun with it.
The recipients of those cards should look at the card and say, "Wow,
they look like they were having a great time when this picture was
made." What a great personal way to say Happy Holidays!

likely environment for parrots due to its lush rainforest environment.
However, none of Hawaii's parrot species are native to the islands. All
of Hawaii's parrots were introduced to the islands and are feral
species, or wild animals that were historically domesticated. Hawaii has
a handful of parrots and parakeets -- smaller birds in the True Parrot
family of birds -- with substantial populations.

introduced this species to Hawaii. In its native area, red-crowned
parrots are endangered due to habitat loss and the pet trade. Feral
red-crowned parrot populations are a concern in Hawaii since they are
infesting fruit crops and native plants. Red-crowned parrots receive
their name from the red plumage on the top of their heads. Other regions
where red-crowned parrots are feral include Southern California,
Florida and Puerto Rico.

Oahu -- on the Diamondhead peak. The first feral red-masked parakeets
appeared on the Oahu and Hawaii islands due to domestic birds that
escaped from captivity in the late 1980s. Wildlife researcher Nicholas

the environment as of May 2009.

introduced to Hawaii in great numbers during the 1960s, '70s and '80s.
Some rose-ringed parakeets were brought to Honolulu in the '30s,
according to the Bishop Museum. Rose-ringed parakeets live on three of
the Hawaiian Islands -- Hawaii, Oahu and Kauai -- at the date of
publication. The largest population of rose-ringed parakeets are on Oahu
at 500 to 1,000 birds. Rose-ringed parakeets have entirely green

Kauai's East Side is sometimes referred to as the Coconut Coast for the groves of coconut palms that grow in its resort areas. The most populated district on the island, about 16,000 of the island's 62,000 residents reside in the Wailua/Kapaa area. Amongst the clusters of coconut trees you’ll find historic places, amazing beaches and memorable attractions.

In Wailua, you’ll find a variety of sightseeing opportunities and outdoor activities. Kayak the Wailua River in Wailua River State Park, take a boat ride to the Fern Grotto, or take photos at Opaekaa Falls. Don’t forget to try and spot the Sleeping Giant in the Nounou Mountains or take a hike up this scenic ridge. Sacred places like Polihau Heiau, the large lava-rock temple of Kauai’s last king, Kaumualii, can also be found on the East Side. And be sure to visi Kapaa Town to discover fine Hawaiian craft pieces, aloha-print shirts, jewelry and art.

But the golden beaches of the Coconut Coast may be the area’s biggest draw. Unwind at Anahola Beach Park, whale watch at Donkey Beach or watch the surfers at Kealia Beach to the north. Lydgate Beach Park in Wailua has two lava rock enclosed ocean pools that are perfect places for families and first-time snorkelers. Fun in the sun awaits you on the Coconut Coast.

Everyone loves Hawaii. Now you can have it delievered to you. Kapo Trading Company has over 3000 fun, unique and authentic Hawaiian items -- hula your browser to this fun and inviting site. South Pacific theme for their decor and drinks menus. They specialize
in tropical cocktails and often also serve food with a tropical
flavor.

Decor

Tiki bars are decorated with an array of Hawaiian fabrics, woven
grasses, glass floats, fish traps, South Pacific murals, tiki torches
and beach paraphernalia.

Motifs

Tiki motifs that are featured in Tiki Bars include tiki masks,
hula dancing girls in grass skirts, ukuleles palm trees and bamboo.

Drinks

Tiki bars usually serve a variety of rum and tropical fruit based
cocktails such as daiquiris, mai-tais, mojitos, piña coladas and
zombies. They are often served in decorative tiki mugs with paper
umbrellas, plastic animals and tropical fruit.

Origin

The first tiki bar was called Don the Beachcomber. It opened in
Los Angeles, California, in 1933, served Cantonese food and rum-based
cocktails, and was decorated with artifacts from the owner's travels
in the South Pacific.

Fun Fact

Tiki means "first man."

A
thatched roof is an important part of any tiki bar plans for reasons
other than appearance. While they are waterproof, thatched roofs
still provide good ventilation, due to the nature of their
construction. This helps to keep you cool by providing shade and
necessary ventilation in the summer. In addition, thatched roofing
will also provide good sound dampening qualities, reflecting less
noise than traditional materials, and helping your tiki bar to have a
quiet, relaxing atmosphere. If you're planning on building an outdoor
tiki bar and a thatched roof is not currently part of your tiki bar
plans, you should seriously consider adding one on. It will give your
bar a much better appearance, create the right ambiance, and provide
your guests protection from the elements. No tiki bar is really
complete without one.

To have a piece of Hawaii delivered to you, visit Kapo Trading Company -- over 3000 fun, unique and authentic Hawaiian items -- we deliver Hawaii to you!

As part of the shoulder season which runs from Labor Day until the holidays, you will often see fewer crowds, shorter lines, and lower rates on accommodation during this time of year. Although the rainy season may just start to pick up in late October, you’ll still enjoy temperatures in the 80s and warm ocean waters.

Weather in Hawaii in October

Average high temperatures in Hawaii in October hover in the mid to upper 80′s, with lows in the mid 70's. You can expect cooling tradewind breezes most of the time, although weather patterns change quite frequently. If you’ll be heading to upper elevations, keep in mind that the change in elevation will influence the temperatures and you may want to pack a light sweater for the evenings.

Windward sides (North/East) of the islands will usually experience a few more passing tradewind showers than the leeward sides (South/West). October is typically when the rainy season begins to pick up so you may get a bit more clouds than in the summer or dry season, but that just means more rainbows!

Things to Do in Hawaii in October

The first humpback whale this season was spotted September 26, 2011 off the coast of the Big Island, which is quite early – typically the first sighting occurs in October! Every year, the winter brings big swells that attract pro surfers from
every corner of the world. Watching these pros attack these ferocious
waves can be an exhilarating experience.

North Shore, Oahu

The North Shore’s legendary winter waves attract the best surfers in the world. The Vans Triple Crown of Surfing,
considered the Super Bowl of surfing, is held on its shores every year.
Here’s what Dan Moore, North Shore resident and winner of the 2005
Billabong XXL award, has to say about some of the North’s Shore’s most
famous spots:

Wamea Bay
has a lot of history. It’s known to be one of the first places where
the guys ventured out in the 50’s and rode giant waves. Banzai Pipeline
is a remarkable spot. For spectators it’s probably one of the better
spots to watch surfing. It is a dangerous place, so it’s for experts
only. Sunset Beach is my favorite spot, actually. It’s where I learned
to ride big waves.”

Peahi (Jaws), Maui
Off the northern coast of Maui is Peahi, or Jaws. This distant break
is famous for tow-in surfing, where jet-skis “tow-in” surfers into
monster 25-50 foot waves that would be impossible to physically paddle
into. Spectators can view the action from a bluff overlooking Peahi.

You can also watch surfers ride big winter waves at Hookipa Beach and Honolua Bay on Maui’s northern coast.

You can also "surf" on over to Kapo Trading Company where you'll find over 3000 fun, unique and authentic Hawaiian items. world's largest waves—and biggest names in professional surfing. Three
legendary beaches on Oahu's North Shore: Ehukai Beach (Banzai Pipeline),
Sunset Beach and Haleiwa Beach, are host to the Van's Triple Crown of
Surfing where spectators line the beach to catch the excitement. Nearby
Waimea Bay is the site of the Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational.
Competition days change depending on surf conditions, however the
stunning views, charming countryside, and surf towns are worth the day
trip to the North Shore. Neighbor islands have their share of big wave
action where you can watch surfers carve through 10-20-foot crescents at
Honolua Bay and the epic Peahi (Jaws) on Maui, and Hanalei Bay on
Kauai.

While big wave surfing is reserved for the pros, there
are beaches on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii, the Big Island, where
anyone can give surfing a try.

If you can't catch a wave in Hawaii or to Hawaii, Kapo Trading Company will deliver Hawaii to you!

You know that Hawaii is so spectacularly beautiful and that is why you intend to have your next vacation in Hawaii.
However, with so many interesting places to visit and discover in your
short vacation trip, you will have insufficient time to visit all the
tourist attractions there.

Well, there is a solution actually. You can have an overview tour of Hawaii
without spending too much time traveling from one place to another.
Yes, have a bird's eye view of the breathtaking Hawaiian islands by
taking a helicopter tour.

The birds in Hawaii are certainly very fortunate to be able to gaze down
on one of the most awesome sceneries on Earth such as from the skies of
Kauai, they can get to view the
Waimea Canyon, Mount Waialeale's majestic waterfalls, hidden reclusive
sandy coves and the jagged Na Pall Coast. Now you too can have a bird's
eye view by taking a helicopter tour on your vacation holiday Hawaii.

Take a flight over Hawaii's Big Island and view the resplendent volcanic
activities of Kilauea, especially when it is erupting can be very
exhilarating.

I want to sound word of caution here. Do not be like many tourists who
regretted for the rest of their lives because they have forgotten to
bring along their cameras. However, do not get too engrossed taking too
many photographs and videos because you will miss the scope of your beautiful surroundings.

Many tourists have a tendency to glue their eye to their camera's viewfinder that they forgot that the main purpose for the helicopter tour is to experience the space and the breadth of their surroundings.

Yes, a picture paints a thousand words but no photographs could ever hope to capture the panoramic view as you hurtled across the Hawaiian sky! How can the photographs
or the videos capture the feeling of the land suddenly dropping off
beneath you as you fly across the edge of cliffs and volcano craters?
Your helicopter tour of Hawaii will certainly be wasted if you do not enjoy the experience of your freedom in space.

However, there is a controversy in experiencing your trip over Hawaii in
a helicopter. As there is a profusion of companies offering chopper
tours there are many such tours everyday and this creates noise pollution
which is very jarring for tourists and locals alike who wants to enjoy
Hawaii's famed tranquility. There are loud calls for the number of
helicopter trips and tours to be cut down.

So if you want to enjoy a memorable holiday vacation in Hawaii, try taking a helicopter tour.

And if you can't make it to Hawaii, have it delivered to you.
